Italian
Formula 3 Maiden Pole for Montanari!
October
11th 03 (lil)
The
last race of the Italian F.3 Championship at Vallelunga (which
will assign 2003 Champion title) began under the sign of Coloni
Motorsport: the two Lola Dome Mugen Honda of the Italian
team dominated in fact both free practice and qualifying,
with Christian Montanari who took a maiden pole setting an
incredible 1.08.799, ahead of his teammate Marco Bonanomi,
second with 1.09.095.
After the Monza 1-2, Coloni Motorsport wants to confirm at
Vallelunga too the performances that had allowed Christian
Montanari and Marco Bonanomi to earn respectively first and
second place: the pole position taken by Montanari is important
not only because brings the Sammarinese driver closer to the
first place in drivers standings, but also because the
whole team can approach to the most important race of 2003
with more tranquility.
A
great result for the Italian Marco Bonanomi too, the only
driver close to Montanari, who will start from the front row
on Sunday, aiming at a good outcome in order to improve his
position in standings. Bonanomi and Montanari, after the wins
of Imola, Mugello and Monza, are showing that also at Vallelunga
one of the most prestigious tracks in Italy and Europe-
the Lola Dome Mugen Honda of Coloni Motorsport is the
most competitive car and there is great satisfaction in the
team for the result achieved.
Coloni
Motorsport now looks forward to the Sunday race, which will
start at 15.30 (GMT +1).
Christian
Montanari, 1st 1.08.799: The pole position I
took today is really important for us, we earned another point
and all is going right. We have an excellent pace, we proved
it starting from Friday until now, and the Lola Dome is simply
perfect! For the Sunday race Im very confident.
Marco
Bonanomi, 2nd 1.09.095: Qualifying today went
really good, Im very close to Christian and my car is
ok. Tomorrow I will do my best and I will aim at a great result.
