There
are still two races to be run before the conclusion of the Formula
3 Euro Series 2004. This weekend, on the Czech circuit of Brno,
the ninth event of the series will be taking place with the participation
of our three drivers : Japanese Katsuyuki Hiranaka, Frenchman Franck
Perera and Brazilian Roberto Streit. All of them belong to the TDA
Toyota Drivers Academy programme. During the test on this track,
in the last week of August, the results were encouriging for Perera,
who on the second day finished in the sixth absolute place and for
Hiranaka, who was twelfth . Streit, unfortunately had had some problems
with the engine the day before. The technical characteristics of
this circuit, with long bends where it is possible to drive at high
speed, are particularly interesting for our drivers. For the first
time the Formula 3 Euro Series, linked to the DTM, will take place
in the Czech Republic. The Championship was won by English driver
Jamie Green during the last race in Zandvoort. The best rookie of
the year must still be determined.
The first in this particular classification is our Franck Perera,
only some points before Dutchman Giedo Van Der Garde and another
Prema driver, Roberto Streit. The battle for this title is going
to be very interesting. Last year, Chistian Klein, now in Formula
1, was the winner.
