Team BRM looking forward to round 4 of the Australian Formula
3 Championship
The
Australian Formula 3 Championship heads to sunny Queensland for
the forth round of the 2003 series.
With
just a two week gap between the previous round held at Wakefield
Park and this weekend's round at Queensland Raceway, Team BRM opted
to travel straight to Queensland. The Team completed a test session
at the track last Wednesday 4th June 2003 in preparation for the
coming round. Neither Matt Fitzgerald nor Karl Reindler had been
to the track previously, the test day was to provide them with a
look at the track before the round began. Unfortunately the track
had received three inches of rain the night before and owing to
local flooding a section of the track was unavailable for testing.
Despite
this Fitzgerald and Reindler, along with Darren Palmer were able
to gain set up data for this weeks 4th round of the Australian F3
Championship.
Both
Karl Reindler and Matt Fitzgerald, were impressed with the flowing
nature of the track and they both are looking forward to the meeting.
Queenslander,
Darren Palmer is looking for a good result as this is his home track.
Currently sitting in 7th position in the Championship, Palmer is
aiming to finish in a strong position in both races this round.
This
round will see the Championship reach the half way point, and it
is already offering a tighter battle for the Championship lead than
previous years have offered. The level of competition is close to
the best in Australia at the moment with over half the level one
competitors still in contention for the Championship trophy.
